About Karen

I am a retired teacher who has both Regular and Special Education certification. I have taught elementary students, grades 1 -5, as well as students with a multitude of learning challenges, and I have successfully taught students in preparation for state testing. I find that my Master's Degree in Sociology and Psychology has been especially beneficial throughout my teaching. I feel that differentiated instruction benefits all students, regardless of individual learning styles. I believe that all students can learn, and that even the most successful of students should be challenged. I provide fully developed, individualized lessons. I am patient, organized, and structured with expectations for growth. Lessons are customized. I am a proponent of visual and tactile hands-on experiences. Teaching is an absolute joy. I support the school curriculum as needed, reinforcing classroom objectives to ensure success for your child! My lessons are based on Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
