About Julia
My strategy as a tutor is to encourage a growth mindset in students so that they can maintain a positive attitude about learning and school. I have experience tutoring at the college level through a freshman mentoring program at Albion College, as well as a current job at a tutoring company that I started in January. I also work as a biology laboratory instructor at Eastern Michigan University. These job opportunities have given me experience with a range of grades: from elementary-college.

Julia tutored my grandson this past year in both Math and Science. My grandson was in 9th grade. Julia really took steps to engage with him in a very positive way. He really enjoyed working with her and hopes to be able to work with her during his 10th grade year. Julia was always on time and very reliable. She was also very flexible with our family's schedule and always tried to work around my grandson's schedule. Being a high school kid, his schedule was often subject to change. I would highly recommend Julia for tutoring. She is very comfortable in providing instruction with more complex subjects like Math and Science.
