About Joy

Hi! I'm Joy. I have been a 3rd grade public school teacher for 5 years. I have experience working with children aged 0-12 through my job, field experience and through volunteering at my church's VBS and sunday school. I love helping children get creative and explore the world around them! I am passionate about social/emotional learning and infuse that into everyday moments. I am empathetic but can be stern and stubborn if the situation calls for it. My husband and I recently welcomed our first baby in February, so I am looking to transition to a work from home or role where I can have flexibility and stay with our daughter. Ideally, I would like to provide care from our home but am willing to travel short distances (we live in Harrisburg). We live in a calm walkable neighborhood with parks nearby. We have a sweet cat named Suki.
