About Joy

I have 6 years of experience... and technically speaking I have 26 years! I am the oldest sibling and cousin in my family, and have been taking care of kids since I can remember. As soon as I was old enough (12, by my mom's rule) I began babysitting kids other than my family, and when I was 13, I became eligible to help out with the childcare at my church! I did that regularly until I was 17, and then in college, I returned for some summers to do the all-day Staff Daycare (about 15 kids, with a few other teachers) aged 3 months to 7 years old! After college, I completed a certification for Newborn and Postpartum care (in anticipation for a job that I ended up not completing due to being offered another position). For the past four years, I have been a school administrator in and around the DC area for a private school (7th-12th grade). I have just moved to the Bronx from DC, and looking forward to getting plugged in in the community!
