About Joyce

Joy (her name is Joyce but she goes by Joy) began as our full-time Au Pair/nanny in 2015 when my kids were age 4 and newborn. During the two years Joy provided full-time live-in care, she became like family to us. Still to this day, my kids (now age 11 and 7) literally cheer when I say Joy is coming over to babysit! Joy is empathetic, caring, trustworthy. She just has a lovely way with children. She's gentle and fun, but also knows how to maintain boundaries and keep things on schedule when necessary - whether it's an infant feeding routine, getting to gymnastics on time, or making sure homework gets done before dinner. She makes kids feel confident, and cared about and always makes sure I get information I need, too. By the way, her English is nearly perfect and she can teach kids Portuguese if you want! My youngest has a lot of special needs - she is hearing and vision impaired and has developmental delays due to a genetic disorder. That makes things more challenging from a care perspective and Joy has been amazing with her from day one. Joy is one of my daughter's very favorite people in the whole world. I never have to worry about how things are going when Joy is babysitting. I know the kids are happy and safe. That kind of peace of mind is priceless. Feel free to reach out if you have questions!
