About Josie

I am currently a high school English teacher looking for a summer tutoring job. I have nannied and taught in various capacities for over 7 years. As a nanny, I tutored a child in reading and writing each day; by the end of the year, he was one grade-level ahead of his peers. As an English teacher, I am constantly searching for new and exciting ways to get kids interested in reading, writing, and thinking critically. I believe that literacy is a life-saving skill that creates better societies. I am patient, energetic, and am empowered by seeing children and teenagers succeed in English.
