About Johnie

I teach beginning readers and basic phonics. I also did a year volunteer for a non-profit organization for homeless children. I taught full time 3rd grade in Enid, OK. Also, I have substituted in OKCPS and PCSD. Among my years teaching I have had jobs with The Oklahoma City County Health Department and a secretary at OSU/OKC. I am certified teacher through the State Department of Education. On top of that, I am interested in theater and have worked in OKC and Dallas. I apply my vocal lessons and pronunciation of short and long vowel sounds, spelling, Language Arts. I have been an actor on stage and in film. I integrate all my experience and both degrees in one lesson. I teach the 3 modalities like, visual, aural, and kinesthetic learners. I believe all 3 styles are important. Creative thinking and critical thinking are important. Some students need more one on one instruction. Sounds like I can teach your child.
