I have been working with special needs kids since in high school when I worked at a equestrian summer camp for children on the Autism Spectrum. It was some of my favorite memories with some of the most creative, fun kids I've ever met. I find myself lucky and honored to work with children who experience the world differently, as it means I get to have my perspective changed too. Obviously, my direct experience in caring for those with special needs is helpful, but possible even more helpful is my training in performing arts as well as a Gestalt therapy - which is all about co-regulation. I use these trainings constantly in childcare.
