About Jessica

Hello! My name is Jess. After working in retail for nearly 20 years, I decided to make a change. I was looking to find a job where I could help people in a more meaningful way. I am currently a certified Ombudsman working to advocate for residents living in long term care facilities. I love being able to be a voice for those who may not be able to advocate for themselves. While I don't have any formal dementia training, I do feel comfortable working with those who have it. When I am doing visits in the facilities I go to, I spend a lot of time talking with residents who are on the memory care unit. In addition to my job as an Ombudsman, I also work as support staff for an individual with intellectual disabilities. I have over 10 years experience working with individuals who are autistic, ages ranging from 4 years old - to those who in varying stages of adulthood. I am a quick learner who is eager to absorb any knowledge I can to make the lives of the individuals I work with better.
