About 10 years after my mother died, my father found that he didn't want to, and wasn't able to, live alone. He moved in with my family in 2016 and lived with me for 7 years until March 2023 when he quietly passed at home 2 months shy of his 94th birthday. I managed his medications, picked up and administered his prescriptions, instilled eyes drops multiple times daily, shopped, cooked, cleaned, did his laundry, made his appointments and drove him to them. It takes a village to raise a child and care for our parents.
