About Jessica

I was a live-in caregiver for a lady with ALS disease. ALS is Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis which is a nervous system disease that weakens muscles and impacts physical function. As her body health was declining, I was there to provide a lot of accommodations that were addressed. Such as helping patient move in and out of bed, bath, wheelchairs, and automobiles. Helping to start her day off right with dressing and grooming. Her ability to swallow and feed herself declined so I prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner which was blended yet delicious. Meals examples included were broccoli and cheddar soup, tomato soup, blended chili, mashed potatoes, and smoothies. I provided light housekeeping which included changing bed linens, washing and ironing laundry, cleaning the kitchen, and taking out the trash. I also entertained her with playing piano and singing. She really enjoyed communicating with me, and she appreciated that I had a quiet personality.
