While pursuing my degree in Social Work, I interned at a psycho-social clubhouse for adults living with developmental disabilities and persistent mental illness. I developed a deep compassion for the sensitivities and struggles of this community and a understanding of the stigma and alienation that often inhibits the potential growth and well-being of an individual living with a disability or mental illness. I have also worked as a caregiver at an assisted-living facility. I always practice from a person-centered framework and approach my work with empathy, curiosity and gentleness.
