About Jennifer

I use my background as a teacher to push your student to make significant growth during our tutoring sessions. I have a deep knowledge of Common Core standards, and plan targeted lessons to address gaps in your students' learning to ensure that they are approaching grade level or beyond. I am also aware of the shortcomings of Common Core standards, and work to put back some of the imagination, inquiry, and exploration that so many of us remember. I'm a certified teacher currently living in New Jersey, but I've also worked in public schools in Maryland and New York. I am a passionate lifelong learner and became a teacher because I love encouraging curiosity in young people. I am certified in Elementary Education 1-6 in New York and Maryland, Middle School Science in Maryland, and my teaching license in New Jersey is currently pending. My Master's degree is in Education and is from University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and my Bachelor's is in Sociology and is from Towson University.
