About Jennifer

After two years of working in an independent school as an Upper School English teacher while pursuing a Masters degree in English & Writing, I decided to step away from the classroom to focus on one-on-one instruction instead. As a teacher, I found that when it came to writing essays, students struggled the most with organizing their ideas and greatly benefited when I, or another teacher, was able to sit down with them and talk through their ideas. From there, we were able to work on grammar and more technical aspects. Additionally, students who struggled with reading comprehension and often got lost during the class period benefitted from the extra attention I could give them; they needed someone to walk alongside of them and slow things down. It is in these two focus areas, I would like to help students. Writing is essential because it is rooted in effective communication. Students should feel confident to express and communicate what they need to! It starts here!
