Teacher/Tutor for 30 years. Managed a tutoring center and started a tutoring business of my own. I am currently tutoring students of all ages in reading, writing, Dyslexia, ADD/ADHD and other Learning Disabilities. Tutor math K -5th grades. I work with children on reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, following directions, sequencing, identifying the main idea, drawing conclusions and more. I can assess your child's educational performance, and reading level. I can create a personalized learning program for students who are out of school due to school closures. M. worked with Jeanne in second-fourth grade. Jeanne is extremely skilled in teaching reading and writing. She uses her creativity to help her students find their own confidence and direction. Jeanne shares her own stories with students and uses her art skills to help "draw" out her students--MG LOVED this part of her one-hour tutor session. When she accomplished a section of reading, she got to finish coloring a section of her big-picture-work. The big-picture-work ultimately was a colorful drawing usually of the "rules" for reading (highlighting the sequences they were working on). Jeanne made stories with the rules of reading to help struggling M. grasp the tools and retain them to use in her own reading and writing work. We all had a very special friendship. Jeanne helped me as a parent get through the difficult part of seeing my kiddo struggle. She even helped me identify my own reading struggles. My daughter thrived under Jeanne's direction! ...Yours will TOO!
