Art and special needs go together so well, the feeling of communication of watching color or line, and becoming confident at work or play is so exciting to be a part of. I also did some home care with a young man in a wheel chair, he had seizures often at times. I would try to detect one coming before and intervene with a break and a fanning. Also took care of some autistic women I worked with in painting and some downs friends in theater/singing/dancing. We all had fun. I have not done that much work in home, but there were 80 students at the center I worked for 1 1/2 years. I only left because of a health crisis, now many years behind me. Very rewarding work to love and be loved, and sometimes struggle alongside.

Jaya is the most pleasant, thoughtful individual. She cares about my health, my diet, my exercise, my rest. She grocery shops and cooks good food, she organizes my medications, and is a good companion when we are just relaxed and talking. She helps me on the computer and drives and accompanies me to the museum, theater, doctors and meetings. We do paintings and crafts together from time to time. She is a multi-talented and a very pleasant person to have with me at home.
