About Jax

Hello!! My name is Jacklyn (most people call me Jax, it's more fun) and I have been working with kids since I was young. At 14, I started babysitting and being a camp counselor over the summers and it kept going from there. Eventually I started to work as a summer school teacher and am now currently a substitute teacher in a high school as well as a teacher for an after school program for a wonderful group of 5/6-year-olds. I am very comfortable working with babies as my friends have babies and I am a new aunt so I have spent a good amount of time changing diapers! I do have a degree in the arts, I was an acting major in college and went to a performing arts high school. I like to think this puts me ahead of the game because artistic people have to be emotionally open and communicative which means it is easier for me to speak to children through tantrums and injuries. I also know a lot of cool acting games to play with kids and am very good at making up stories on the spot.
