During the past 14 years, I have cared for seven individual seniors including three men and four women ranging in age from 84 to 95. In caring for these individuals, I have provided both the "basic" duties of senior care as well as the more complex responsibilities associated with the management of diseases. The "basic" duties have included such things as bathing, medication management, physical therapy, transportation to doctor's appointments, shopping and general errands. The more complex duties I have performed have been associated with the management of various diseases, including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, hydrocephalus, traumatic brain injury (and the dementia associated with those diseases), cancer, diabetes, kidney and heart disease.
