I am a caregiver for seniors & enjoy working with them a lot. My grandmother died when I was just a teenager, so I never really had a grandmother I knew very well, & my grandfather passed about 10 years later, whom I loved dearly. However, I find it easy to get to know seniors & I find their life stories very interesting. I have been a caregiver for 3 years & have thoroughly enjoyed it. The last lady I cared for was a 'Live-in' position, who was recovering from a Brain Tumor when I came on board. I helped her with her household duties, rarely cooked, because she was recovering so well, she wanted to do her own cooking. I drove her to her doctor appointments, shopping, running errands, (including to garage sales & eating out weekly) plus anywhere else she needed or wanted to go, using her vehicle. She recovered do well & so quickly, she lost her Long-Term Care, therefore I lost my job with her. Another woman I cared for, had a spinal chord injury, in which I helped with light housework, made her meals & ran errands with her. I also helped an elderly couple with medication, errands, cooking & cleaning until her death from Alzheimer's.
