About Jamie

I am a retired Waldorf teacher with over 20 years experience working with children, from grades 1-12. I have also been a math tutor for over 15 years. My last tutoring student graduated from high school last year and I didn't realize how much I would miss it. The best rhythm for the student is 1 hour, at least 2x per week, unless they have fallen behind and are trying to catch up . Then additional time is needed . I am available for that. I specialize in handwork, art, math and reading. I have also been a dedicated student of yoga and meditation for most of my adult life. I'm also an avid reader and creative person in general. I like connecting with students on an individual basis and helping them to understand something that they are having difficulty with. I'm looking for a family where I can be a valuable asset to their children's educational process as well as alleviating some of the overwhelming stress that parents often feel with regard to homework, particularly math .
