About Heather

My name is Heather and teaching is one of my passions. I am highly qualified as a special education teacher, an early childhood teacher, and as a reading specialist. I am particularly skilled in diagnosing and correcting reading difficulties. I have innate abilities to understand what a child's needs are, and I have a good rapport with them. I am seeking a tutoring position in reading, writing, and/or math. My desire is to teach kids metacognitive strategies that they will use independently, and to help them fill-in learning gaps that hinder them. I can teach your child how to accelerate their own growth rates! I am comfortable tutoring online or in person. My services include a complete diagnostic reading inventory, a personalized plan for success, 1:1 tutoring sessions in person or by Zoom with your child, and coaching for parents. The methods I use will dramatically increase your child's growth rates. I will help set your child up for success!
