About Heather

After 20 years as an elementary school teacher I wanted to make a change and enjoy my own children's last few years at home. Now, an empty nester, I have time on my hands. I began working three years ago with an individual with medical needs. I serve as companion, transportation, advocate, as well as encourager! I assist with finances, some grooming, mobility, and dressing in addition to the afore mentioned. I have found I absolutely enjoy this work. I have a commitment of about 12-15 hours a week on average every week. The family is reliant on me so I'd like to work other opportunities around that schedule. I have found that I truly enjoy this work and it feels good to be helpful. I am trustworthy, reliable, compassionate, and creative. I communicate empathetically and professionally and I believe that's paramount in this role.
