About Heather

Hello! my name is Heather and I'm currently in my first year at Fordham University. I grew up in New York and have had my fair share with working and taking care of kids. In high school I was part of Aspira, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to "empower the Latino community through advocacy and the education and leadership development of its youth. I spent my time helping younger kids with English and Math, as well as participate in arts and crafts activities. I have also worked as a tutor in an organization called, "Read Alliance", where I provided one-to-one literacy tutoring to kids from under-resourced communities. Aside from volunteering and working, I have a younger brother and have babysat my cousins from age range (3-9), having this prior experience allowed me to realize I love working with kids, wether thats academically or in a artsy way!
