About Scout

Hi there! My name is Scout (like Scout Finch!) and I am a 25-year-old tutor with 6 years of experience. Most of my experience has been with elementary aged children who are on the autism spectrum, and who have ADHD and behavioral difficulties. My specialties are in writing, social studies, and elementary math. I am also able to assist with extra curricular obligations and have a background in creative writing, music, cultural studies, and art. My tutoring philosophy is student centered, adopting a range of methods from creativity to alternative learning to the modeling approach found in teaching English as a foreign language! It is important to me that I live by kindness always and trust in every single human's potential to be a good person. I am a realist, but an optimist all the same! My greatest joy is children, and so I hope to have the privilege of helping yours learn and grow.
