Hi! As a nanny and in other fields, I've worked for several families with children diagnosed as having varying degrees of and types of special needs. In my nanny career, I spent 10 yrs with a family of 4; fraternal twin boys 4 months of age both w/ autism, and later a younger sister w/ severe speech delay. I also worked w/ a family whose 3 yrs old daughter was diagnosed w/ an incredibly rare disease known as Mowat-Wilson syndrome (symptoms are like cerebral palsy & autism combined) and her 6-year-old brother. The disease heavily affects mental and physical development. Currently nannying part time for a 32-month-old who has autism and severe speech delay and his 16-month-old brother. I was a PCA for children/adults w/ paralysis, cerebral palsy and down syndrome. I've also worked w/ epilepsy, autism w/ deafness, hyper thyroid & arthritis. It's rewarding to help kids learn to develop, grow and reach their goals.

Gian goes above and beyond the call of duty. I only needed her help transporting my son from our house by Atlantic BLVD to a location on Baymeadows Monday through Friday. She would come and watch him until they would leave and I didn't know how much help she would bring to the table! Not only is she wonderful towards my son with special needs, she is wonderful towards our dog and she helps around the house! Being a single mom this is a wonderful treat to come home and the laundry is going and the dishes are done! Gian is also very friendly and has a very active imagination! My son loves her and we enjoy having her in our lives!!
