About Flora

I am an Art Therapist! Yes, you read that correctly! I graduated with my masters in Art Therapy and Counseling in 2021 and currently work as an art therapist teacher in a juvenile detention center. I have worked with children across a wide range of ages and needs! Have a child with or a child who struggles with depression or anxiety? No problem, my experience in the therapy field makes working with these kids extra fun and enjoyable! MY APPROACH: I approach my work with children similar to therapy. I truly believe children are capable of expressing their needs when we meet them where they're at and validate their experiences. The world can be a scary place and children feel so many emotions that are huge to them! I believe in being gentle, firm, and fair. Collaborating together can lead to great outcomes! Parents who prefer the Montessori Method and gentle parenting often prefer my approach to childcare.
