About Eugene

I have tutored High School and Elementary students in math and English as part of the student-teaching requirement of a credential program. During this time, I would help remedial High School students with their homework, which covered all subjects. I would mostly help them solve mathematic problems, and this in algebra and geometry. However, we also had times studying English texts, science, and history. In Elementary, I would help students with basic grammar lessons, reading, writing, math, and studies across various fields, all at a level pertinent to their development. We would cut out, paste, and create various diagrams, and complete worksheets, in order to display learning or make art. I remember, from my time with the students at High School, having a fun and interesting lesson deconstructing a humorous sonnet. Another indelible memory was that the students seemed to find useful a math problem on how to find the new price on a item after calculating the sales percentage.
