About Emily

I'm a recent college graduate from the University of Michigan and moved to the city a little over a year ago. Throughout college I worked at a daycare with children who were just a few months old to kindergarten aged, and for the past year I have been nannying for a few different families. The two main families I have nannied for both have 3-year-old girls and the other family, who I cared for on the weekends, have a 1-year-old, 5-year-old and 6-year-old. I'm hoping to move to working with just one family who are closer to where I live. As a babysitter/nanny I love spending time outdoors and nurturing children's development through new experiences and sensory play. I have been very lucky to form wonderful relationship with the families I've worked for. We were able to collaborate, work as a team and stay openminded about how to best take care of their child. I like to use positive reinforcement, gentle language and make sure kids feel like they have a sense of independence.
