My youngest brother (who is 23) is on the autism spectrum, and his cognitive level is about that of a 10-year-old. I often spent my late childhood and teenage years taking care of him to give my parents a break. I later came to MSU hoping to get a degree in School Psychology to work with other special needs children before I found that my purpose was better served through a master's in Human Development and Family Studies. I am currently completing a capstone project on shared reading interventions for children on the autism spectrum while I search for full-time jobs.
