About Elizabeth

For three years, I have been the nanny for a family of five children, ranging in age from 0 to 9. I had the privilege of creating fun and meaningful activities combined with intentional focus on character development, laughter and fun. Under my supervision, the children never watched TV or played with any toys with batteries. It is through my work with children that I hope to create a loving, educated and balanced future generation, as well as, a more stable home for those I work for. I enjoy greatly being allowed in to help and work with families and their children, and trust that my high standards, with a combination of child-like wonder and fun, enables great depth and development of children of all ages. With the past family I worked for, I helped facilitate and organize many language lessons (the children were studying French, Spanish and Chinese, as well as learning to speak English), was the practice violin teacher (we used the Suzuki Method) and coordinated educational and fun outings for the children and family. Similarly, I assisted the mother in daily paperwork (bill and scrapbook filing). I have studied for years nutrition and instill my knowledge through tasty, yet healthy snacks, teaching children fun and healthy ways to cook and eat. In regards to discipline, I have found that the 1-2-3 Magic method to be excellent, and useful to be on the same page with the parents. My experience with children also ranges to 8 summers I have spent working in leadership positions at a well known camp in North Carolina, supervising the activities and character development of the campers there.
