About E.

I feel that we have lost the art of truly caring for older people. We need to see older people as people who are still valuable to God and therefor to us. We can learn so much from their experiences, if we take the time to, and not look on them as burdens. They cared for us when we needed it, now it's their turn to need it. I took care of an elderly woman (95) for 2 years. Mostly at night, so I only took her to the bathroom, had tea and crackers and talked if she couldn't sleep, got her dressed in the morning and fixed her something to eat. But, I have on occasion watched another elderly lady who I've taken to the hospital or Dr., or just to the store, or brought home to spend the day with us and eat with us, to help fill her day. I currently work at a senior assisted living facility. We are moving to the Lynchburg, Va area within a month.
