About Dulce

Dulce seems like a kindhearted individual with good intentions, but unfortunately, her reliability and realism are lacking. During her 4 month stay with us as a nanny, she appeared accommodating when conditions were favorable. Things aren't always easy with babies. While taking care of my two toddlers, which naturally requires a fair amount of effort, nothing out of the ordinary in terms of routine and behavior, Dulce's focus seemed to be more on herself, rather than the job at hand. Over the course of four months, I found myself having to address a couple of concerns raised by my toddler that any parent would discuss with a caregiver. These conversations were meant to ensure my child's safety and comfort, but Dulce took them quite personally and became emotional, seemingly feeling attacked. It's somewhat concerning when a nanny prioritizes their own emotions over those of the family and the child. Dealing with a sensitive nanny can be challenging, as a new mom, you may find yourself hesitant to address issues and resort to tolerating the nanny's discomfort. This is not an ideal trait to have. As a busy working professional who operates from home, I maintained daily communication with Dulce and supported her needs as she tried to support mine. She's great at cleaning and I'm thankful she cleaned up wonderfully after the kids. However, her sudden departure without notice was both unexpected and distressing. She informed me of her back injury through a cold text message, leaving me and my children in a rather difficult situation. Looking back, I realize that her overly pleasant demeanor may have masked a lack of honesty. She appears to be highly sensitive and reluctant to confront uncomfortable situations or take responsibility. Additionally, I must express that her sensitivity and tendency to cry undermined my ability to fully nurture and advocate for my children. Furthermore, Dulce consistently made excuses for being late on a daily basis and was always on her phone which means she's not focused on my children, which is highly unprofessional. Her lateness was only between 5-15 minutes, but sometimes later and as a punctual working person it was hard to deal with. As a mom, I hold great value in carefully selecting individuals to enter my home and build a close relationship with my children. It is disheartening when a nanny abruptly departs, as children often form attachments, and it can be emotionally challenging for them. I genuinely hope that Dulce can find a more suitable age group to work with or consider a different career path outside of nannying altogether. I'm uncertain if her previous jobs were challenging, but it's clear that she may not be suitable for working with families if she lacks the strength to establish routines and comprehend the demands of caring for young kids. My main complaint is that she made nannying more about her own comfort, family, and personal adjustments rather than prioritizing the well-being of my children. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend her for work with young children, as her sensitivity may lead to harshness in her interactions with them or an overly emotional response with who hired her.
