I am a Graduate student at Hunter College for Early Childhood Special Education Severe/Multiple Disabilities. I feel extremely invested in helping children before they are school-age who have developmental or behavioral issues. While I do not have any official experience working with special needs children, I have grown up in a community that has always been involved in the field. My mother has been a public school special education teacher for 10 years here in New York City. My high school was an inclusion school, and most of my eleventh and twelfth grade classes were inclusion. The after-school that I have been working at this past year has a few high functioning cases of mutism, autism, behavioral disabilities and motor delays. I would love to work alongside parents to help their children (preferably before school age) in whichever way is needed. I am an extremely kind, patient, intuitive, fun, insightful person that is willing to put the time and energy into any challenge.
