About Donna

I worked in health care in a hospital setting for 28 years. I was a birthing assistant, lactation educator, nurses assistant and a surgical technician. I worked in Women's Health, mostly in Labor and Delivery. I also taught newborn classes, breastfeeding classes and led the Breastfeeding support group. In addition to my hospital work, I left my job and took care of my parents as they transitioned. My father died quickly from cancer and my mother lived with Alzheimer's disease for 12 years. It was a challenge as a caregiver to arrange for respite for me, and learn the best way to help her lead a fulfilled life. I did this through classes and support groups. My Alzheimer's support community meant so much to me, I realize the importance of support to family members.
