About Derek

I am a registered nurse (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) with 17 years of experience in acute inpatient care. I currently work part-time on a general surgery unit in Fort Myers. I am certified in orthopedic nursing. In addition, I possess a graduate degree in infectious diseases and microbiology. I am a baker (I am happy to make your loved one's favorite treat!) with interests in the arts and travel. My schedule is reasonably flexible, but I am only available one day a week. I can assist with bathing and dressing, food preparation, grocery shopping, laundry, light cleaning, medication management (including blood glucose and insulin), pet care, transport to/fro activities, appointments, and errands, and wound care. My hourly rate is $35. While I have my own transportation, I do not transport clients in my automobile. I am happy to provide you with references and a detailed resume upon request.
