About Deborah

Hello, I have a master's degree in education from Winthrop University. I taught public school at the elementary and middle school levels for 29 years, grades K-6th. I am certified in Gifted and Talented instruction and also Literacy Lessons for Intervention, a program for young readers. I retired from teaching in June 2022. I have since worked and volunteered for the Museum of York County in their education department with preschoolers through adults. I have also cared for babies and young children as a church volunteer. I am CPR certified. I believe that children are naturally curious and learn best by being actively engaged in the discovery of new concepts. I enjoy helping children explore children's literature and the natural world around them. I am married and have 3 grown children, a cat and a dog.
