Six months as an Au Pair (18-24 mo) Four years of babysitting children in the family Two years as a Preschool Teacher of large classes (aidless) Sporadic babysitting in the subsequent years I love babysitting because I am always happy to positively impact someone's life. Moreover, I am grateful to have spent time with each of the families I have worked with. During those 6 months as an au pair, I learned so much about how deeply good, intentional, attention can impact a child. It teaches them the importance of proper communication, in turn allowing them leg up in emotional intelligence. The greatest lesson I have learned as a sitter has been to appreciate the gravity that comes from taking a pause in the face of challenges or crises. It allows for more effective problem-solving. And if, by now, you are not sold on making me your babysitter, I am also just an intrinsically loving and nurturing person who cannot wait to help you out in whatever ways you need.
