About Daniella

During my senior year at Anderson High School (2016), I spent a year as a student-as-teacher for an ESL (English as a Second Language) course for students of all ages. During this time, I overlooked, helped, answered questions, and explained concepts to students who needed it. English and Language Arts are the subjects in which I excel in, so it was very enjoyable to me to watch as the students gained understanding with my help and support. Starting in the beginning of 2018, for a college Social Problems course I was taking, we were required to do some sort of service to society. I chose to tutor the same student once a week for four months. I can't mention his name, but he was in the third grade, spoke little English, and needed help with English. By spending just an hour a week with him and helping him practice different exercises, I was able to see his progress and improve his grades. Tutoring is beneficial for both the student and the tutor. It teaches patience and endurance
