About Connie

Hello! Thank you for looking at my profile. I am a former music and drama classroom teacher with a PhD in Music Education, and experience tutoring a variety of subjects both online and in-person. I facilitated online high school students in 13 different elective courses offered by Sahuarita Digital Pathways Academy (SDPA) using the online educational platform Edgenuity. Additionally, I tutored the 8th grade online students at SDPA in their English Language Arts classes and general test-taking skills. My experience also includes in-person tutoring with 1st and 2nd grade students in reading and language arts at Sunridge Elementary in Phoenix. I use a constructivist approach when teaching, partnering with each student to facilitate their goals and increase student self-efficacy. Together, the student and I scaffold skills and information for brain-friendly learning, all in an atmosphere of acceptance and true belonging. Thank you for your consideration.
