Colleen is an excellent caretaker. She has watched my two children - one with special needs - at various times over the past six months. She is caring, patient, understanding and allows children to be children all while maintaining authority. As a board-certified dietician, she is focused on good nutrition and has gone to extensive lengths (pureeing, etc.) to get as much healthy food as possible into my children's diet. My 18-month old loves her whole wheat pasta and sauce with soy meatballs! With that said, she is completely non judgmental in regards to food preferences and will support whatever decisions parents' want to make. Colleen has an excellent intuition about children and their needs. She has helped my daughter, who is deaf, learn to advocate for herself in public and has attended seminars to understand her special needs. She has encouraged her to try new things and gets excited when she achieves something new. Colleen has also helped me when my children were sick and my husband was traveling. She stayed up until 3 a.m. with me one morning, helping manage a four year old with the stomach flu and a baby who was awake and completely off schedule due to having the bug before. Truly, Colleen would be a wonderful asset to any family. I highly, highly recommend her!
