My heart for elderly people has transpired throughout the years without me realizing it was unique or uncommon. They were the patients I missed when I moved from working in Oregon at an oral surgery office and with that awareness I started volunteering at a assisted living facility in Mission Valley. Since then, I have worked as a receptionist at a Brookdale in Oregon and been a live-in companion with my adopted grandmother (who just celebrated her 93rd birthday). My husband and I have found ourselves back in San Diego County and I find myself in a position where I can once again step into someone's life and help with the every day moments.
