About Christy

I have experience caring for a wide age range of children, from as young as 2 weeks old, up to 12 years old and beyond. I have provided care for children with learning disabilities, bilingual families, children at soccer camps, and more recently as a preschool teacher in Homer. After 3 years teaching, I moved to Anchorage for a big career change--pursuing an electrical apprenticeship! I am currently a second year apprentice and taking a medical leave to heal a neck injury. I miss spending time with children and am looking forward to returning to the childcare field during this time! Some of my core child care principles include: -encouraging their curiosity -providing a safe and supportive environment for them to learn and grow -empowering kids to learn independence skills -having fun together! I am happy to elaborate more on my child care experiences. I look forward to hearing from you!
