About Cherie

I have a huge passion working with children and have been doing it since I was 20 years old. I worked in education from transitional kindergarten to 6th grade as an aid and substitute teacher. I have also volunteered as a camp counselor for youth Christian camps for 4 Summers now, and volunteer as a Sunday school teacher for 8 years. I have 3 children of my own. Their ages are 8, 14, and 17. I have also cared for my nieces and nephews as newborns, toddlers, and young kids, to support their parents while they worked. I love kids, I build relationships with them, and enjoy entertaining them! One of my favorite things to do is read children stories to them. With all of my educational knowledge I have gained in child development, as well as my experience in classroom settings, and youth camps, I understand they all have different personalities and needs! I am still employed with VUSD as a substitute teacher, however, I would consider caring for little ones at home as a career.
