I've been called a mama bear at heart, energetic, nurturing & compassionate, unique & fun babysitter. I've been caring for children of all ages (0-16 years) for over 15 years in a myriad of family environments. I have just moved to Charleston from the West Coat. I grew up in Maryland and lived all over the East Coast including NYC for 8 years. For the last year, I worked full-time for 8 different families on a part-time schedule in Maryland & LA. Duties included, but not limited to: morning care (waking kiddos up, getting them dressed, fed, teeth brushed & out the door for school); after school care (school pick up, transporting to activities and sports, overseeing homework, resolving sibling squabbles, preparing nutritious & delicious snacks & meals); attending activities (i. e music class, baby gym class, play dates). In addition to day and evening (bedtime) routines, days included creative and educational play time, arts & crafts, indoor & outdoor activities & sports, organizing and scheduling play dates and creating a safe and nurturing environment for the children. I have vast experience with babies and toddlers - introducing new foods, breast and bottle feeding, sleep training and methods, potty training and newborn care. From Jan-May of 2014 I was working as a full-time nanny in New Zealand caring for a 2-year-old boy and 3-month-old girl (ages when I arrived). Duties included cooking all meals and feeding the children, playtime and activities (beach walks & swims, park, riding bikes, trips to children's center and play dates and etc.), nap time, bath and bed time, transporting the children to music & play class (via car), reading, singing, dancing & engaging the he children in educational activities. Previous to my job in New Zealand, I worked as a part-time nanny for several families in NYC ages ranging from 1-week-old to 16 years old. I am a very happy, energetic, engaging and trustworthy individual. I have a can do attitude about everything. I am a great listener and communicator. I believe in engaging children by playing games, reading, music and the arts, going to the beach, park and other activities suitable for their age. I enjoy watching children thrive. I am extremely reliable, a non-smoker & have exceptional references upon request. I love to cook and prepare nutritious creative meals. I would be happy to not only prepare meals for your children, but for your entire family. I am happy to do light cleaning/straightening up. I look forward to meeting your family.
