About Brooks

Hi! My name is Brooks. I'm a Senior at UNL and I am back home in Omaha for the summer. I will be student teaching at 2 Elementary schools in the fall of 2020. I have spent time teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students in the general education classroom. I also taught 1st and 3rd grade students in the Special Education setting. For work, I am a Gifted Mentor at Public Schools, where I prepare daily lessons for gifted students and work one on one for 1 hour per day with students during the school day. I also spent the last 2 years working at Family Service. I spent time with K-5 students after school hanging out, providing food, and working on homework. In the summer program I worked full time and taught lessons, led games, drove for field trips, and supervised swimming. Overall, I am a very fun, relatable, 22-year-old man who has a great passion for kids. I am more than happy to be a teacher this summer or just a fun part of the day.
