I've worked in childcare for almost 10 years. From 5-13 doing mostly after school programming, more recently the past 4 years I've spent working residentially at Perkins school for the blind, in the deaf blind department of the school. I've developed a proficiency in American sign language, and learned an array of strategies for working with the population, including behavior support, ADL skills and activity planning. I'm a hard worker and quick learner. I'm goal oriented, organized and I tend to be pretty positive. :) I fell in love working with special needs students and everyday I'm amazed at how much I learn from my students and how much my students love to learn from me. I've never done this work to be honored or thanked, I generally just love doing this work because its fun. Even when its difficult and trying its still the most amazing experience I've ever had.
