About Avery

Hi there! My name is Avery, and I am a recent Duke graduate who has moved back to the Durham area. I have two younger sisters, so I have been taking care of young children since I was 10. I even took a babysitting course when I was 12 so that I could help out more with my siblings. I have also had ample experience babysitting for other family and church members. I love to work with children because I find their minds so fascinating and fun. People tell me all the time that I "have a way with kids", and I believe a lot of this is just being involved and showing genuine interest in their interests. Whether it's making someone laugh with silly faces, telling interactive stories, or helping with homework, I take an active role in child care. And most importantly, while in my care, I ensure every child's safety and wellbeing as if they are my own family.
