About Ava

Hi, My name is Ava! I am a senior at UCSB, majoring in Global Studies and minoring in Spanish. I am from the Outer Banks, NC. I have years of experience in child care including: overnight, extended child-care, weekly babysitting, and ESL tutoring to my host sisters in Spain. I also have experience working in elementary schools for Worldhealer, a local nonprofit, which puts on global awareness workshops for students ages k-6th grade. In my spare time, I like to do pottery, where I am currently completing my goal of making an entire dinner-ware set before graduation! I also like to surf, hike, bake (especially banana bread), and spend time outdoors. One thing you should know about me is that I love how fun kids are. I grew up in a big family with many cousins, and so being around the little ones and experiencing the way they see the world brings me a lot of joy. My skills include patience, attention to detail, and being personable.
