About Athena

I'm looking for a job that allows me to use the skills my life experience granted me. Being the sibling of a severely disabled child taught me patience and quick thinking in ways that I could have never studied in a classroom. My 24/7 child care experience since my youth made me who I am today and I am so lucky that I can translate these skills into everyday life and my work. I love finding just the right game, song, or moment of calm to turn a gloomy day into a joyful one. My younger sister was diagnosed as developmentally disabled when I was 7 years old and since then it has been my passion to work with children and families. My experience with my sister lead me to become a PCA (personal care assistant) for disabled children. Due to my background in theatre, I love creating lots of fun games and interactive experiences for the children I work with.
