Aspiring mom with a decade of experience who takes a Gentle Parenting approach here. :) I'm in the process of getting CPR and first aid recertified. I speak French fairly well, Spanish a little less well but I continue to learn, and I'm learning Mandarin and ASL (partially because I sometimes work with families who have deaf individuals in them, and their babies sign :) which is super cool). I have a license but not a car right now (I'm looking to get a new one). I've been babysitting since I was a teenager. Then, I worked church nursery and babysat my neighbors who were 3 and 5. I've continued babysitting since then, mostly toddlers. I'd like to start doing full-time childcare! My sense of purpose recently shifted from career-based to family-focused. Providing excellent care to others is the best way I can live a life of meaning. :)

Unfortunately our nanny's entire family caught the flu and so we had to cycle through quite a few backup nannies, and Anna was our family favorite. Our 7 mo old is very weary around strangers, so we were nervous about the situation, but she took to Anna almost immediately. This definitely wasn't the case with other backup nannies or even our regular nanny. From observing her work, I think there was a good reason for this. Anna was very calm and soothing while being thoughtful and engaging. She allowed our baby to explore her own capabilities while being present and explaining what she might have been observing, helping her learn. She treated our baby with care and respect and never teased her the way we've seen others nannies do. Thank you for being so thoughtful Anna, we would 100% love to work with you again in the future!
